Bansko in the top ten ski resorts in the world
Even after Brexit, Bansko still receives recognition from the UK. Bulgaria's Best Ski Resort is among Daily Mirror's top ten winter destinations in the world. Pirin's jewel is on the seventh position in the ranking, leaving behind emblematic resorts such as Vail and Aspen in the Rocky Mountains, the Swiss Zermatt and Bormio in the Alps.
"The best Bulgarian ski resort has everything you need for a fun-holiday at a nice price. In Bansko you can find cheap accommodation. The cost of food and nightlife is relatively low as well. In the mountains there are great sceneries, slopes for beginners and advanced skiers and fast lifts", says the article. The media states that the ski season usually lasts from December to April and that the nearest airports are in Sofia and Thessaloniki. The price of 119 Euros for a weekly ski pass makes Bansko very attractive as well.
Mirror's material confirms that Bansko is a favorite topic for the UK media. Many Britons settled in the mountain resort, turning it almost into a British colony. Bansko is often in the headlines of the English press. For example, in 2014, the "Daily Telegraph" announced Bansko the 3rd best place to live in the world. Besides this the Telegraph pronounced us in 7 consecutive years as the most profitable resort among 26 top ski destinations (20 in Europe and 6 in North America). In 2016 according to the Daily Mail Bansko hit the top 10 of the most popular winter locations on the planet. The survey considered the bookings in the world's largest hotel search engine "Trivago".
