Bansko and Dubai were Bulgaria's top searches for spending New Year's Eve according to the data from the global hotel booking platform "Trivago" for the period 29 December - 2 January.

The winter capital of the Balkans definitely outpaces Borovetz, Velingrad and Pamporovo as a preferred place for spending the holidays. The fifth position holds Dubai, which in the ranking is the most wanted abroad destination.

The survey proves that the local resorts are the favorite places for the New Year's Eve. On the sixth position in Trivago is Bulgaria's capital Sofia. The turkish city Istanbul is surprisingly ranked on the 7th position, after it was even not list in previous years. Far behind Bansko are seven European capitals - Belgrade, Vienna, Rome, Prague and Paris, which take 8th to 12th position in the searches. Almost at the bottom of the wish list are the greek neighbors Thessaloniki and Bucharest in Romania, alongside the bulgarian cities Varna, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo and Tryavna.
