Everyone has a moral duty to contribute to the protection of the environment. Only this way we can live in harmony with nature and preserve our planet for generations to come.

Ulen AD, the concessionaire of Bansko Ski Area, aims sustainable development of tourism in harmony with nature. We are now looking for an external ecological consultant to help us achieve the high environmental goals we have been striving for many years. 

What has been achieved so far?

Ulen AD has an ISO 14001 certificate for environmental standards. Already in 2018 we stopped using plastic bottles, cups, straws, utensils and disposable tableware in the entire Bansko Ski Area. As part of the environmental strategy of Ulen in 2012 the system for separate collection of packaging was implemented. For this purpose trainings for the staff of Ulen AD are held annually. The separated waste is handed over to licensed recovery companies. Anti-erosion measures are taken in case needed. The three water treatment plants which are built on the territory of Bansko Ski Area prevent the pollution of the rivers in Pirin Mountain.

We made these steps, because we know that nature is our most valuable asset which makes the guests of Bansko come back to Pirin Mountain. That is why we are looking for an independent ecological consultant who can help us achieve our goal of clean nature in the best possible way by bringing in her/his expertise and knowledge.

The independent consultant will

- monitor and inform us about the best practices in this field worldwide;

- help us conduct educational campaigns for environmental protection; 

- advise us to improve the energy mix by monitoring the best practices in the field and to help us implement them in our country;

- support us in the preparation of environmental projects and in the handling of documentation for their implementation. 

The ideal candidate will

- have an affinity for solving complex cases and is curious, methodical, rational, analytical and logical;

- have experience in working both worldwide and in the Eastern European region;

- have access to best-practice knowledge on a global level in carbon transition, environmental management, and complex ecological problems;

- have access to both the policy and scientific community in the region, and worldwide. 

The ecology sector is developing dynamically like any other sector and the regulations in this area are constantly changing. We would like to work with a consultant who monitors these changes and who with her/his experience and good practices will support our team in its efforts to reduce the environmental footprint, which is one of the main goals of Ulen AD.
We believe that an external and independent ecological consultant could be the best support and corrective for achieving a better symbiosis between humans, flora and fauna in Pirin Mountain.
