The „Ulen“ ski team dominates the first race of the FIS season.

First the ladies stepped on the podium. On the first racing day 17-year-old national ski team member Gergana Zadneprovska triumphed in the absence of last year's double winner Vera Assenova, who is recovering from a serious injury. She finished with a total time of 1:36,31 min, leaving behind her teammate Maria Kirkova. On the next day they swapped places. Maria was the fastest with 1:32,43, Gergana was left 1.33 seconds behind. Eva Vukadinova ("Borovets") took the third position.

In the first men's slalom the situation was more dramatic. Georgi Nushev surpassed Yoan Todorov with 88 centiseconds and in the second race he retreated with only 9. In both slaloms Nicolas Tsivas from Greece took the third position.

For three winners - Gergana Zadneprovska, Georgi Nushev and Yoan Todorov - the Ulen Cup, one of three most important awards in Bulgaria, is the first race in their career.

The next Bulgaria Ski Federation race in Bansko is scheduled for January 30th and 31st, 2018 – „Kapi“ Cup (U14, U16). It will be the 20th Anniversary race.
