It was a very good season in all four Bulgarian winter resorts. As usual Bansko is far ahead of Borovets, Pamporovo and Vitosha, generating the interest of more than half of the skiers on a national scale. This was announced by the Institute for Tourism Analysis.
200 000 people have chosen to ski in Bulgaria out of 1.2 million people who have visited our country in 4 months. Half of those 200 000 people were skiing in the Pirin mountain where the season this year lasted 135 days, starting on the first Saturday of December and ending on the third Sunday of April, the Bulgarian National Television BNT reported. In general the municipality of Bansko has a 15% tourism growth.
Many people have come not only to ski, but also to relax or simply to spend some time in nature, like students and their parents during the school vacation.
The business under Todorka peak also reports a successful winter with 85% full hotels. The tourists are mainly Bulgarians, Russians, Moldovans, Greeks and Turks.
