The official 2025-2026 winter season kick-off in Bansko will take place on December 13th! This year's guest star is the legendary Italian slalom skier Giorgio Rocca! The 50-year-old is one out of five athletes with 5 consecutive slalom victories in the World Cup. The others are Ingemar Stenmark, Mark Girardelli, Alberto Tomba and Marcel Hirscher. 
In his 17-year career, Rocca has 11 World Cup victories and a total of 22 podiums. In the all-time ranking of World Cup successes he occupies tenth position. The alpine skier born in Chur (Switzerland) has 2 bronze medals from World Championships in slalom - St. Moritz, 2003 and Bormio, 2005. Rocca also won the third place in the combination in 2005. He has performed less well only at the Olympics, where his best result was the fifth place in the combination in Turin, 2006. 
At the season opening in Bansko Rocca will be accompanied by the five-time World Cup overall champion Marc Girardelli. The two will be the team leaders in the traditional for the Bansko winter season kick-off competition “Get in the Team of the Champ”. 
Among the big attractions for the season opening in Bansko on December 13th, 2025 will be the game "Treasure Hunters", in which guests will be able to win big prizes.
